Companion Animal Surgical Services

The decision to allow your beloved companion to undergo surgery is never an easy one. Despite the confidence we have in our abilities, we know that surgery is difficult for both you and your pet. This is why we work as hard as we do to ensure your pet's procedure is as comfortable and stress free as possible.

Perhaps the most important pre-surgical step we take is to discuss with you why we believe a particular procedure is necessary and what it entails as well as the precautions we take to ensure your pet's safety during surgery. We will also provide information on proper postoperative care and answer any questions you may have so that you feel comfortable that you are making the right choice for your pet.

Surgical Services at the Veterinary Clinic of the Mineral Area

The Veterinary Clinic of the Mineral Area's facility includes a surgical suite equipped to support a wide range of surgical procedures as well as to ensure the safety of your pet during surgery. Additionally, our doctors are experienced surgeons and veterinary practitioners who have undergone considerable training to hone their skills. For these reasons we are very proud of the quality of surgical care offered at our animal hospital, as well as the wide range of surgeries. However, for more complicated procedures we will refer you to a board-certified orthopedist.

Pain Management

We have found that a proper and balanced application of pain medications means your pet will be able to heal quickly and with less discomfort. Therefore, pain management is an important aspect of our pre-, intra-, and post-surgical protocols and tailors the medications we use to the patient and his or her breed. At discharge, we may also send additional pain management medication home with you and your pet after providing a thorough explanation of its proper use and dosage.
