Rachel Jones, DVM

Dr. Rachel Jones is our Associate Veterinarian who originally joined the Veterinary Clinic of the Mineral Area in May 2017 as a Kennel Technician before returning as a veterinarian in April 2024. She attended the University of Missouri Columbia, where she received her undergraduate in Animal Science in May 2020 and received Top Mizzou Animal Science Student - Senior Award, as well as Top 10 Animal Science Senior Award. She continued her education at the same university, graduating from veterinary school in May 2024.

Dr. Jones grew up in Farmington, where she watched her father, Dr. Ben, tend to animals at this very same clinic. "Growing up shadowing in the office, going on farm calls, weekend and late night emergencies all encouraged me to become a veterinarian. I had and have a great role model to look up to," she shares.

Some of her professional interests include equine reproduction, routine surgery, and bovine herd work. She is a member of the Missouri Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Jones believes that "being able to establish and build lifelong connections and relationships with clients and their beloved pets" is the most satisfying part of being a veterinarian.

At home, Dr. Jones and her spouse have their hands full with many pets: Remington and Elijah (two Australian shepherds), Finn (a lab), 7 cats and Fancy, a Quarter horse. In her free time, Dr. Jones enjoys horseback riding, traveling, reading, sitting poolside, and spending time with her family.
